(KSTP) -- An employee at the Mall of America was injured Saturday while working on the new zip line attraction, temporarily closing the ride.

The incident happened on the Barnacle Blast's east platform, part of the Dutchman's Deck at Nickelodeon Universe, around 11:15 a.m.

Mall security and Bloomington police helped the employee off the equipment and into an ambulance, according to a mall spokesperson. The employee was later treated and released.

The ride, which takes guests on an aerial tour of the indoor amusement park, was closed for about an hour following the incident and has since reopened.

One of the zip line’s platforms is more than 70 feet off the ground, according to the mall's website. Employees are required to wear harnesses while working to prevent any falls.
