(ABC 6 News) -- A handful of families dealing with a loss of a loved one from violence traveled to Rochester to find support from one another.
Athletes, members of the military, students,
They all have one thing in common, they're a member of someone's family.
Killed by senseless hands.
It was in 1964, but Dan Gable remembers the day his sister was murdered quite clearly.
These families are a part of a national organization called Parents of Murdered Children. They each have their own tragedy, lodged unwillingly into their memories.
In 2012, over 14 thousand people were murdered in the United States. From Missouri, Texas, to Ohio, some of their families are here in Rochester.
There's also a process of recovery, even if closure seems impossible.
That's why they're here.
Sisters, brothers, these are the victims of violence who live among the ordinary.
