(ABC 6 News) -- The Austin Fire Department is taking to the streets for a good cause. Wednesday kicked off the "Fill the Boot" Campaign to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Wednesday through Friday, firefighters will be out all around Austin with boots in hand collecting donations. Now in its sixth year, the department has raised nearly $100, 000.
"I think it has less to do with us than it does the community," Jim Halsey with the Austin Fire Department said. "We have a really great community here, just really giving so it really works out. Our job is easy."
Firefighters will be at various intersections through Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
