(ABC 6 News) -- Tomorrow’s election will narrow the field of candidates in many local city and county elections.

Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede has two candidates competing against him this time around: Stephanie Kilen and Cindy Maves. Incumbent Bruce Snyder is running for Council Member Ward 3 against Vickie Anderson and Nick Campion. The only other race in Rochester is for school board position five: Terry Throndson is running against Nora Dooley, Matthew Halleck and Jean Marvin.

Austin has just one primary election this year. With Roger Boughton deciding not to run for Council Ward Two, four candidates are registered to take his place: David Hagen, Alex Mayfield, Marvin Repinski and Brian Staska.

In Albert Lea, Council Member Ward 6 incumbent Al Brooks is running against Matt Maras and Sergio Salgado Junior. Freeborn County Sheriff Bob Kindler is facing Kurt Freitag and Dale Glaizer for another term.

There's a race to replace Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand, who is retiring this year. Six people are vying for the position: Bob Averbeck, Ron Ganrude, Kraig Glover, Rodney Hansen, Gary Hoeppner and Bill Spitzer.

Just two candidates will advance in each of these local races.
