(ABC 6 News) - A Kasson man has been charged in connection to the death of Noah Graddy. Darrian Rice is now charged with second degree manslaughter.

As we've reported, the 15-year-old Graddy disappeared from his home in Kasson in January. His body was found in March, along the railroad tracks between Kasson and Byron. According to the final autopsy report, Noah died of acute intoxication due to the combined effects of bupropion, methamphetamine, dextromethorphan, chlorpheniramine and hypothermia due to exposure.

According the Rice's criminal complaint, Rice "did cause the death of another by his culpable negligence whereby he created an unreasonable risk, and consciously took chances of causing death or great bodily harm to another."

The complaint says on January 21, Graddy and a few friends purchased Meth in Rochester and brought the drugs back to Rice's home.  There, the teens got high and spent the night.

In the early morning hours of January 22, Rice and another friend reportedly became annoyed when Graddy began acting strange and was being loud.  Rice admitted to authorities that he told Graddy to leave his home because he was afraid he would wake up his grandmother.  Graddy became upset and left the home on foot and also left a note that said, "thanks for using me until all my money was gone."

The temperature at the time was between 9 and 20 degrees below zero.  That was the last time Graddy was seen alive.

As we reported Graddy's body was found a couple months later on March 20, near the train tracks east of Kasson during a planned search.

Rice is currently being held at the Steele County Detention Center. He's due back in court, in Dodge County, on August 20th at 11am.
