(ABC 6 News) -- A campaign to keep drivers safe falls short of its goal.
It’s called the I-90/94 Challenge. There were extra patrols along interstates 90 and 94 stretching across the country. Fifteen states from Washington State, to Minnesota, to New York participated. The goal was zero traffic deaths from Friday to Monday.
But we learned Monday afternoon that one person died from a crash on I-90 in Montana.
“When you have a fatality it's a tragedy. So has gone well, no we didn't meet our goal. We've done the best we can and hopefully in the future we can meet our goal,” said MN State Trooper Heath Dienger
The toward zero death initiative stretching 5,600 miles went until midnight Monday.
