(ABC 6 News) -- People living in Rochester could soon be paying more for their utility bill.
Officials from Rochester Public Utilities met today discussing the possible increase. Until this year, rates had held steady since 2009. There was 3 percent increase in 2014.
The new proposal is to raise rates another 3 percent in 2014, then increases of 1.7 percent in 2016 and 2017.
RPU will have a public meeting on potential rate increases on August 26.
