Zip Rail to be Discussed at Public Meetings

(ABC 6 News) -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation is holding three public meetings this week on the proposed Zip Rail project.

Kenyon-Wanamingo High School, Commons Area and Auditorium

The high-speed rail would connect an approximately 100-mile corridor between Rochester and the Twin Cities. The train would reach speeds of about 180 to 220 miles per hour, making for a 45 to 50 minute trip each way.

The cost for the project is estimated at between $2 billion and $4 billion.
