(ABC 6 News) -- After months of planning and fundraising, the small town of Stacyville, Iowa came together today to honor their veterans.
This town put a lot of work in to build a veterans memorial. There are less than five hundred people in Stacyville, but they managed to raise $70,000 to revamp their park and build the veterans memorial that was revealed this afternoon.
The Memorial Committee wanted to keep things simple.
It's mostly comprised of bricks on the ground that bear the names of veterans who served in each branch.
There's more than 450 stacked very closely with one another.
Community members have already sold some bricks for more names for next year.
They will be placed before Memorial Day.
