(ABC 6 NEWS) -- As part of a plea agreement, a Rochester man will serve 7.5 years in prison for raping his girlfriend.

24-year-old Joseph Martin II pleaded guilty to second degree criminal sexual conduct. A number of other charges against him were dismissed.

It stems from an incident in June where the woman says Martin held her captive and repeatedly raped her. She was eventually able to escape when the two went to a store for cigarettes. Witnesses told police they saw the pair in the parking lot and Martin was armed with a knife. They also told investigators the victim was screaming and trying to get away.
