(ABC 6 NEWS) – The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a life-threatening motorcycle crash.

Around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, family and friends of Christopher Michael Edwards, 22, of Albert Lea, reported that he had not returned home. He was last seen at a friend’s home around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

Edwards, operating a 1973 Honda, was found in the southwest ditch of the intersection of 250 Street and CO RD 22 around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

Evidence at the scene indicates Edwards failed to negotiate a curve. Authorities believe the motorcycle entered the ditch, flipped twice, and threw Edwards off the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet, and suffered life-threatening head injuries.
