Rochester Man Accused of Assaulting Police Officer

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man was arrested after running from the cops and then assaulting an officer.

Rochester Police received a call that a woman had been assaulted at the 400 block of 9th Avenue SE around 12:30 Friday morning. When police arrived a man, later identified as Lazaro Martino, ran out the back door. Police say he was spotted hiding near Bear Creek, but took off running again.

When an officer finally caught up to him, Martino allegedly tried to wrestle the officer to the ground. Martine was eventually tased and taken into custody.

Martino faces a laundry list of charges including domestic assault, disorderly conduct, fleeing an officer and obstructing the legal process with force.
