(ABC 6 NEWS) -- The Minnesota State Patrol believes social media likely played a part in getting a semi truck driver to turn himself in. Authorities say the driver sped past a stopped school bus and nearly hit a young girl about to board.

The incident happened Friday near Paynesville. Authorities posted YouTube video from the bus Tuesday afternoon on Facebook and Twitter. They asked for help identifying and finding the driver. In a matter of hours, the driver turned himself in. The video has now been viewed more than 92,000 times.

Authorities say they're still investigating the incident. We're told the bus had its flashing lights on and stop arm out when the semi sped by. The girl wasn't hurt.

Troopers say once the investigation is finished, the findings will be turned over to the Kandiyohi County Attorney who will decided on possible charges.

The truck driver, at this point, is not being identified.
