Fire at Owatonna High School

(ABC 6 NEWS) - Students at Owatonna Senior High School have been evacuated after a fire started at the school at 12:30 p.m.

When firefighters arrived there was smoke coming from the auditorium.  Owatonna Fire Chief Mike Johnson says the sprinkler system contained most of the flames, but they extinguished what was left. There is some smoke and water damage to the building.

The fire was contained to the stage area.  The state fire marshal is investigating the cause. 

Students were taken to nearby churches.  Officials say everyone made it out safely and there were no injuries.
