(ABC 6 News) -- Two new candidates stepped into the race for Rochester Mayor.

We sat down with Stephanie Kilen who is a long time Rochester resident and a strategic consultant.

She and Cindy Maves both filed Tuesday to run against incumbent Mayor Ardell Brede.

Kilen says she's excited about changes in Rochester including Destination Medical Center and potential growth it can bring.

"I believe the city is in the unique position to take the lead on making sure that the growth that we experience is good for everybody in our community," Kilen said.

Other contested races for the city of Rochester are in City Council Ward 3.  Incumbent Bruce Snyder running against Nick Campion.

And incumbent Mark Hickey is running for Council Member Ward 5 against Shaun Palmer.
