(ABC 6 News) -- A record number of runners are pre-registered for Rochester’s Med City Marathon this weekend.
More than 3,000 people are signed up for all the events. The organizers are really trying to make a whole weekend out of it. You don't even have to be a runner to participate. There will be a fitness expo, kids play zone and even happy hour on Saturday leading up to the big race Sunday morning.
“We’re trying to draw people in from out of town and out of state, give them something to do for the whole weekend, make it a destination marathon instead of just a stop and run and leave again,” said Wally Arnold, event organizer.
All of it will be going on down by the Mayo Civic Center. If you didn't pre-register you still have a chance to sign up on Saturday.
