(ABC 6 News) -- The man who sparked a large search Wednesday evening is believed to be getting help from a friend in the area.

As we first reported, 48-year-old Gregory Ahlers of Lake City is a wanted fugitive, and authorities received information that he was at a home in Rochester.

We're told law enforcement went to arrested Ahlers because he was wanted for fleeing police. Authorities say they'd tried apprehending him three other times in the past two weeks, but he was able to elude authorities each time.

Thursday morning, Olmsted County Sheriff Capt. Scott Behrens issued a warning to those who may be helping him, saying they will pursue felony charges. Capt. Behrens also issued a direct plea to Ahlers to turn himself in.
