CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) - A Charles City man faces federal weapons charges in connection to a high-speed chase in April.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports 21-year-old Franklin Freddrick Foster faces multiple state charges in connection to the April 12 incident that cut through the city of Waverly. They include assault on a peace officer and trafficking stolen weapons.
On Wednesday, a federal grand jury added a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Court records do not list an attorney.
Authorities say the chase started after they tried to pull over Foster because he was driving without a license. He is accused of calling dispatchers and telling them he would shoot officers if they didn't leave him alone.
The chase ended with the use of tire deflators. Foster eventually surrendered.
