(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Now that spring has officially begun in Minnesota, people are enjoying it. In downtown Rochester, the restaurant patios were busy all day.
But things weren't just busy downtown. All over Rochester, and all over southeast Minnesota, people got out and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
"Do you like playing inside or outside more?" I asked 4-year-old Briella. "I love playing outside," said Briella.
She might be on to something there. She spent part of her day at Silver Lake Park, playing on the swings with her mom.
And they weren't alone, people across the city were out and about Wednesday.
"Um yeah, we were kind of going crazy inside. So I didn't like it," said one mom playing with her son at the park.
"It seems like it was winter yesterday, and suddenly summer's here. Thank goodness," said Candace, a Rochester resident who got out to walk her dog.
For Mike Lesmeister, the good weather is also good for business.
"When the weather's like this, this is really the time we get anxious and excited about getting out," said Lesmeister.
He owns Lesmeister Hot Air Balloon, and the season is just beginning.
"Last night was our first official flight for the year. We're real excited. We're gonna fly tonight and possible tomorrow night," he said.
"Its exhilarating. Finally, for that long winter to be over. To get the dog out," said Candace.
And little Briella is hoping the nice weather will stick around, and there will be more park days in her future.
"What's your favorite thing to do at the park?" I asked her. "Um, play on the swings," she answered.
Downtown is only going to get busier this summer. Thursdays on First and Third kicks off on June 5th.
