(ABC 6 News) -- Tuesday night voters in Kasson and Mantorville approved nearly $40 million for upgrades in the school district. The school bond referendum passed with 64 percent of the votes.
The money will go towards expanding both the elementary and high schools. Plans call for a new auditorium and accommodations for all-day kindergarten.
"I’m excited, but I’m more excited for the kids. This is a big day for the kids for the next 20, 25 years, so these are going to be places that they can learn in for the rest of their lives, and I’m pretty fired up about that,” said Superintendent, Mark D. Matuska.
The bond will also advance their stem program and make way for several other building upgrades.
