(ABC 6 NEWS) -- The supply room at the Mower County Humane Society is full again, thanks to students from Southland Middle School.

The kids delivered the results of a week-long competition Wednesday afternoon. The idea was to give something back to the community, while having fun at the same time.

"Each of the items were worth certain points. The homeroom that got the most points got a pizza party," says Southland 7th grader Sam Fredrickson.

During the week-long competition the students collected items including 30 bottles of bleach, 33 bottles of laundry detergent, 40 rolls of paper towels, more than 800 pounds of dog and cat food, and more than 318 dollars in cash.
