(ABC 6 News) -- In just a few short weeks, she went from writing songs on her grandma's piano to recording them for the world to download on iTunes.

It’s safe to say 18-year-old Molly Kate Kestner's voice has captured the world. She sang live on Good Morning America, and was featured on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer this week.

"In a short amount of time, millions and millions of hits, she is a lovely person inside and out,” said Robin Roberts on Good Morning America.

With more than six million views on YouTube from 178 different countries, her song "His Daughter" has become a viral sensation.

"You received tweets from stars like Ashley Judd who said she wept and wept, you had to be overwhelmed by that,” asked GMA co-host Amy Robach. “Yeah, overwhelmed would be an understatement,” said Molly Kate Kestner.

Still the Austin teen seems to be soaking it all in. ABC 6 News sat down with Molly just as her song started to get recognized.

"I feel like I wouldn't be fulfilling my passion and my purpose if I wasn't writing songs that make people think or inspire people,” said Molly Kate Kestner.

There's no denying her song is inspiring. The lyrics once written on an old piece of paper, played on her grandmas out of tune piano, now touch millions of lives.

Molly says she had no idea that her song "His Daughter" would strike a chord with so many. Right now it's number 66 on iTunes top 100 chart. Molly’s focus right now is still graduating high school.
