(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A Rochester man was arrested for terroristic threats early Tuesday morning, after claiming he was getting a gun out of his car.

It happened around 2:35am on South Broadway.

Police say there was a group of people standing outside of a bar. Those people said a man pulled up in  a car, got out, and asked if any of them had a lighter. When they said no, the man allegedly said he was going to get a gun.

He walked to his car, and took out an unknown object out of the trunk of his car. The item was covered with a blanket, and the witnesses said it was shaped like a gun.

They called police, and the man threw the item into his car and drove away.

An officer pulled him over. It turns out, the object was a chunk of wood that happened to be shaped like a gun. The man, 33-year-old Abdulsalam Hussein, was arrested and is facing charges of disorderly conduct, terroristic threats, and DUI refusal.

When asked why he had a piece of wood in his car, he told the police officer he “likes the outdoors.”
