Women's Economic Security Act Will Be Signed into Law Sunday

ST. PAUL, MN – On Sunday, May 11, at 11:30am, Governor Mark Dayton will sign the Women’s Economic Security Act (CH 239, HF 2536) into law. 

Senator Sandra Pappas, Representative Carly Melin, Senator Paul Thissen, Majority Leader Erin Murphy and WESA supporters are expected to attend the signing.

The bill aims to close the gender pay gap and provide safer workplaces for women.

Advocates of the bill are saying that it is the first of its kind and is expected to have a huge impact on state employers. 

The signing will take place at the Governor's Reception Room at the State Capitol.
