(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Authorities say a man from Austin is missing in Idaho, where he was last seen near a fast moving river.
According to the Boise County sheriff's office, Dean Christianson, 43, was reported missing Friday afternoon.
He was with a group of friends near a scenic overlook of the Payette River, when he reportedly left the group to fill up a canteen.
That was the last time he was seen.
Authorities in Idaho used land, air, and water search crews, but have yet to turn up any clues. Due to the fast moving water, which is very cold right now, the search has been suspended.
"If anyone fell into the river the outcome is not as favorable as getting into the river later in the summer months," Chief deputy Dale Rogers said.
The investigation into his disappearance will continue, despite the search being suspended.
