(ABC 6 NEWS) -- There have been several sightings of a large cat, possibly a cougar or mountain lion, roaming around the 4000-5000 block of North Broadway in Olmsted County.

According to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Department, the animal might be responsible for the killing of a 200-pound Great Dane. The dog, named Boomer, was found with large bite wounds to its backside, and its stomach was ripped open.

There have also been sightings on the Hadley Valley Golf Club.

The DNR is looking for the animal, and hope to relocate it. Authorities are asking the public, that if they see it, to call authorities. And if they can do so safely, to try to take a picture of it.
