(ABC 6 News) -- A driver has been given multiple citations for a crash in Rochester involving several children.
It happened just after 9:00 Tuesday night at the intersection of 55th Street Northwest and Bandel Road along Highway 52. Police say a van carrying 6 passengers, 5 of whom were under the age of 8, was heading east on 55th Street when it struck another vehicle at the intersection. There were two people in the other vehicle, the driver a 55 year-old male. Both the driver and passenger were taken by Gold Cross Ambulance, police say.
A police officer then drove two people from the van to the hospital in his squad car. The 25-year-old female driver of the van was cited for failure to obey traffic signals and improper installation of child restraint, police say. All injuries appear to be minor.
The full traffic report has yet to be released.
