(ABC 6 News) -- Until this year, Parkside Mobile Home Park in Southeast Rochester did not have a community egg hunt for Easter like many other communities in the city.

The trailer park's residents had a special opportunity to get to know one another and organize an event for their children.

Parents of the park gathered and hid more than 4,500 eggs. A couple of golden eggs were hidden too. Each provided a free give away of a bike from a family in Zumbrota.

Property owner Chris Beighley saw a need to bring the event to their community, "We just have this amazing community here that's kind of hidden from the rest of Rochester and a lot of people don't even know it's here. It had a bad reputation at one time, but as you can see, if you spend any time here, these are great people, great kids, they just want to have fun."

Beighley says the event had a great turnout.

He plans to organize it again next year and perhaps make it an annual tradition.
