(ABC 6 News) -- Students in Rochester have a new place to turn for their health needs.
Wednesday an open house was held for the new health clinic at the Alternative Learning Center. Students who attend the center can get free services.
School leaders say it will not only improve students' access to health care, but also keep them in class.
"We've been able to save 36 student days, and that means out of the encounters that we had, there were 36 times when we could send a student back to class, they didn't have to miss school that day," Rachel Herman with Rochester Students' Health said.
The clinic opened on a limited basis in November, and they're already seeing good results from the patients using its services.
