(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A Rochester daycare provider is charged with a felony for the way police say she disciplined a child.

59-year-old Rhonda Winslow is charged with malicious punishment of a child.

It stems from an incident that happened at her home back in August where she's accused of shaking a 3-year-old and forcing the child to sit on the floor for more than six hours.

According to the criminal complaint, the little girl's mother went to pick her child up from Winslow's daycare in Northwest Rochester and foud her daughter sitting on the kitchen floor.

She says Winslow told her the girl had a meltdown and was being punished. She says she'd had her sit on the floor from ten in the morning to four that afternoon when the mom picked her up.

Documents show the girl told her mom Winslow shook her hard and hurt her bones. The mom noted bruises on the child's shoulders and back.

Winslow was not arrested. She's set to be back in court at the end of the month.
