(ABC 6 News) - In an ABC 6 News follow up, the city of Kasson has declined Dodge County's offer to sell it the Dodge County Ice Arena.
As we reported back on March 18th, Dodge County Administrator Jim Elmquist said the county decided to get out of the ice arena business because it doesn't fit the mission of the county and it could use the money for other things.
Today, Kasson City Administrator Randy Length issued a short statement saying, "The City of Kasson believes the current Management Agreement with Dodge County benefits the entire area and recognizes the hard work and dedication of the many individuals and businesses that constructed the facility. We look forward to a continued partnership with Dodge County to promote and enhance the Dodge County Ice Arena."
As for the future of the Ice Arena, Elmquist says he'll talk to his Board of Commissioners to see what the next step will be.
