(ABC 6 News) – Rochester police say a man tried to hide in a creek to avoid getting arrested but was still caught.

A Rochester Police officer was on patrol around 12:45 Thursday morning near 11th Avenue NW and Civic Center Drive when he spotted a woman at the Mega Express Laundry.  That woman, Melanie Sinclair, has a warrant out for her arrests. So did Sean Marshall, who police say ran out the back door of the laundromat when he saw the squad car.

A Minnesota State Trooper saw Marshall heading toward Cascade Creek and joined the foot chase.  With an officer on each side of the creek, Marshall came out of the water and turned himself in. Sinclair was located a short time later.

The two were arrested for their prior warrants. Marshall was wanted on a probation violation and Sinclair for Driving After Revocation.
