Jeff Allman, current chair of the downtown alliance says about 80 percent of the prospects are within driving distance, but they come from a variety of backgrounds.

"Everything from traditional and nontraditional candidates, a variety of educational experiences people from artistic sorts of backgrounds to people with more generic non profit," Allman said.
The deadline for applying is this Friday.  They hope to have a new executive director hired by May first.
