(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A burglary occurred in the 1900 block of 2nd Street NW that may be linked to a group targeting business owners of Asian and Indian descent.

A local Asian business owner had his residence forced into, and cash was stolen.

Authorities say, since November 2013, they've investigated half a dozen burglaries in Rochester that are believed to be linked to a larger criminal enterprise operating out of the Twin Cities and in other states.

Police say four recent residential burglaries took place during the daytime, that all appear to target small business owners or medical/technology professionals of Indian or Asian heritage.

The suspects are also focusing on bedroom safes and jewelry boxes and ignore electronic items and other valuables.

Police say several members of the suspected criminal group were arrested in Texas in December and they had items that connected them to a number of burglaries in Rochester and other parts of Minnesota. But they believe other members of this group are still active in Minnesota.

Authorities are asking people to be vigilant and report suspicious vehicles, especially between 10am and 4pm.
