Cause of Death Released After Man Found Dead in Backyard

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Autopsy results show a 57-year-old Winona man found dead outside a friend's home in Rollingstone died due to blood loss and hypothermia.

The Winona County Sheriff says the man was at a bar before he sustained his injuries. He had a cut lip, ear and large piece of his scalp was missing.

It is still unclear what caused the man's injuries.The sheriff says there are no signs of a hit and run or fight. A trail of blood was nearly two blocks long.

Authorities have not released the man's identity. The investigation continues.
