(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester residents gave their input Thursday night on the master plan for Soldiers Memorial Field.
The open house featured different changes the park could see. One of those is leaving the golf course as is, reducing it to 9 holes or taking it out all together.
Other concepts focus on the future of the pool and ballfield. There is also talk of a possible community center or event space.
The park board is looking for the right components for long term use.
"If you think about the future of Rochester, we got more people living downtown, you got changing demographics, older generations happening, more people want to walk and bike and be more active, so having an active place in the center of town is a key factor in that," Michael Nigbur, Director of Parks and Forestry said.
The comments will be brought to the city council, and the park board hopes to adopt a final plan by June.
