Former Jr. Hockey Referee Changes Mind, Pleads Guilty to Raping Teen

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A former junior hockey referee with ties to Rochester has plead guilty to having sex with an underage teenage girl.

As we reported, Ian Shaver, 31, met a girl in Pine Island over the internet while pretending to be much younger.

After convincing the girl meet with him at her home, Shaver is accused of forcing the girl to have sex with him.  The victim was 15 years old at the time.

The girl's father caught the two after returning home early from work, but after seeing and talking with Shaver, became suspicious and called police.  Shaver was later tracked down.

Pending the outcome of a pre-sentencing investigation, Shaver will be allowed to plead guilty to a single count of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, and a 4th degree charge will be dismissed.

Sentencing has been sent for May 19th.
