It's now official, the City of Clear Lake will welcome a huge economic development project to that north Iowa city.
The City of Clear Lake and the North Iowa Corridor Economic Development Corporation announced Monday that final approval of the $65 million project is done and groundbreaking and construction are next on the agenda.
Officials still won't reveal the name of the company behind the project, only to restate that it is one of the largest corporations in the U.S. and a member of the "Fortune 100".
Construction will start this spring and take around 18 months to complete.
When finished, the distribution center will be 340,000 square feet in size, employ 164 permanent full time employees at an average salary of about $39,000 a year.
The location of the center is set for a 39 acre tract of land in the Clear Lake Industrial Park west of Titan Pro SCI.
