(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Two burglars turned themselves in after stealing a neighbor’s wallet and going on a spending spree over the weekend.

Rochester Police responded to the Colby Manor Apartment complex in Rochester where a 27-year-old man said his neighbor and a friend confessed to stealing his wallet.

The two 20-year-olds told police they entered his apartment after seeing his lights were on. The apartment was unlocked and the two men went inside and stole the victim’s wallet while he was sleeping.

Rochester Police say the two went on a shopping spree with the victims credit cards, where they bought groceries, home décor items and a $200 bong. The men returned to their apartment and began to regret their decision.

20-year-old Ryan Bigelow of Winona went next door, apologized to the victim and returned the wallet.

Both Bigelow and 20-year-old Zachary Carlson of Rochester confessed when the police arrived with a search warrant and found the victim’s credit cards in their apartment.

Both men were arrested for first degree burglary and card fraud.
