Immigration was the topic at tonight's issues forum at the Rochester Public Library.

The vice president of the Minnesota Chamber spoke on how immigration has strengthened our economy. But there was some opposition. A spokesman with Midwest Coalition discussed their hopes for reducing immigration to open up jobs for U.S. citizens.

We talked with a Rochester business owner who employees several immigrants and is backing the reform.

"It's not like I have a large amount of people standing in line trying to get jobs because we don't, not the type of jobs that we're offering in our industry,” said Joe Powers, President of Powers Ventures in Rochester.

The forum also included table discussions about the issue for those who attended tonight.
