Minnesota Man Busted with $1.75M in Meth in Chicago

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A 22-year-old Minneapolis man has been charged with felony narcotics possession with intent to deliver after approximately 25 pounds of suspected crystal methamphetamine was found in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Arlington Heights.

On Saturday evening, Sheriff’s Police stopped a white, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe for several traffic violations. 

The officer received consent from the vehicle’s driver, Roberto Ortiz, to search the vehicle. Officers found suspected crystal methamphetamine under the front driver seat and in a box located in the back of the vehicle. Approximately 25 pounds – which has an estimated street value of $1.75 million was recovered. 

Ortiz was arrested and has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
