(ABC 6 News) -- On Wednesday it was two different worlds out on the roads, with it really depending on where you were driving.
If you were in town, you might not have noticed anything except lots of blue sky and sunshine.
But if you ventured just a bit past city limits, out on the rural roads, high winds and blowing snow caused visibility issues all across the area.
And while we got hardly any snow on Wednesday, last week's big snowfall still caused problems for those trying to keep the roads passable.
“The wind starts kicking it up and drifting it back, and there's just not a lot of places for snow to go, so it goes right back on the road,” said Mike Dougherty with the Minnesota Department of Transportation. “So that's what we've been doing, is pushing it off to the side, trying to get those drifts tended to."
The roads look like they will still prove treacherous in some areas on Thursday morning.
