This includes the University of Minnesota Rochester as well as the Twin Cities, Duluth and Crookston campuses. Starting July 1st, tobacco products and e-cigarettes will be banned throughout the entire campus.

“It's a trend across the United States and more and more campuses are doing that and certainly research campuses like the Twins Cities campus and our campus which is health sciences campus it's the right thing to do and it's timely,” said Gail Sauter, UMR Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance.

The U of M is catching up to the trend we've seen in recent years. Other colleges including RCTC, Riverland Community College and many others across the state are currently tobacco free.
