(ABC 6 News) -- Albert Lea's City Council voted Monday to keep a controversial skate park in its current location.
Some neighbors had started a petition requesting the park be moved saying it attracted loud noise and crime. A police report presented at the last city council meeting recommended increasing patrols, adding more lights and a no trespassing sign.
Mayor Vern Rasmussen, Jr. says there will be five measures in place to reduce problems, and the city will continue to evaluate the park for any ongoing issues.
The city council also voted to prohibit tobacco products on City Arena property including e-cigarettes.
