(ABC 6 News) -- The Winona County Dive Rescue Team has found the 49-year-old woman, who allegedly walked out onto the ice of the Mississippi River this morning near Wabasha, and disappeared under the ice.

Wabasha authorities say the woman appeared to have left her car at shore and walked out onto the Mississippi.  But they're reserving judgment as to why.

"You can do all the guess work you want in law enforcement but when it comes to something like this you got to go with what you know. There's only one set of prints going out there and nothing coming back," says Wabasha Police Chief Jim Warren. "You've got to take each call serious."

Officials say they won't release her name until her family can be notified. More information is expected next week.
