(ABC 6 News) -- The snowy afternoon didn't stop hundreds of people from packing East Side Lake in Austin for a very good cause.
It was the 2nd Annual Plunging for Pink event.
Last year, there were about one hundred people who raised money and took the plunge into the icy water. This year there were 240 plungers.
All the money goes to breast cancer research.
According to Kathi Finley, one of the organizers of the event, "Every penny stays right here. So it's money well-used. It's all for research and everybody has really embraced that and rallied around it. It's just great. The whole town is involved in something, so it's so nice."
Last year, the event brought in $16,000.
This is just one event with the Pain the Town Pink initiative.
