(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Interstate 35 has re-opened for traffic near the Steele and Freeborn county line, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. But another section is now blocked.
MnDOT detoured traffic after several semis jackknifed and vehicles crashed. Shortly after that section of I-35 opened, another semi jackknifed on I-35 South closer to Albert Lea. Now the Interstate is blocked in that area.
Travel conditions in that region remain difficult because of reduced visibility, drifting and icy conditions. No unnecessary travel in the area is advised at this time.
