(ABC 6 News) -- The annual polar bear plunge kicks off Saturday in Rochester, but some people were already making a splash Friday.
Super Plungers are jumping 24 times in 24 hours. The money raised goes to the Special Olympics. Each super plunger had a goal of raising $3,000 for the event.
"It just really warms my heart, it's one of those events where people really understand what it's all about," event organizer Kevin Torgerson said. "Special Olympic athletes, they have struggles physically, this is just huge support for them."
The main event, the Polar Bear Plunge will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Foster Arend Park. You can learn more about the Polar Bear Plunge or donate by clicking on this link.
