(ABC 6 News) -- A group of students in Rochester are doing their part to help students around the world. They started an organization called Hopelight that focuses on providing affordable, sustainable lighting to areas in the world that need it. They've been selling wrist bands to raise money, but their most recent project is raising donations for solar lights that will be sent to students with no light in Kumasi, Ghana.
"I live in this really great environment. I have everything I possibly would ever need to live an healthy, productive life and I just learned about other people my age around the world that did not have the same opportunities,” said Gavin Mai with Hopelight.
The Hopelight students are trying to raise a $1,000 with their new "GoFundMe.com" campaign. You can donate to the students at this website: http://www.gofundme.com/hopelight11
