(ABC 6 News) - Officials from the I.J. Holton Intermediate School have emailed parents, informing them of an employee who has been charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

According to the criminal complaint, Gordon Gunter has been charged with 7 felonies. The complaint says the incidents date from April of 2005 to August of 2011.  The complaint says the incidents took place in Gunter's home and that the victim was a boy under the age of 13.

According to the Austin School District staff directory, Gunter is listed as a custodian.

According to officials at the Mower County Jail, Gunter posted bail yesterday.

You can read the school's email below.

Dear Parent,

The Austin Public School district is dedicated to maintaining a strong partnership with parents in our effort to provide the very best education for students. Key to that partnership is open communications. For this reason, I would like to make you aware of an incident that involves an employee of the Austin Public Schools.

Last evening the district was made aware of charges filed against an employee involving criminal sexual conduct with a minor. There is no indication that any of these charges occurred in a school building or on district property. The employee has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending further investigation.

As always, the safety of students is our foremost concern. We have many procedures and policies in place to maintain a safe environment for all students.

Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions that you might have.
